Potty Mouth Music, Smart Bar Chicago to Host WMC 2009 Closing PartyPMM artists HiJack and Andy George to make US debut at downtown Miami venueCHICAGO—The temperatures and talent are heating up downtown Miami at this year’s Winter Music Conference, as
Potty Mouth Music and
Smart Bar Chicago partner to host the 2009 closing party on Sunday, March 29. Featuring a line-up that includes 14 house, electro and techno-influenced DJs from around the globe, this year’s closing party will be hosted at
Electric Pickle (formerly Circa 28, 2826 N. Miami Ave.) and include two levels of sound for the amazing low advanced ticket price of $8.
In addition to showcasing the annual, Smart Bar’s acclaimed resident talent of
Colette,
Justin Long[b/] and [b]Miles Maeda, this year’s party also welcomes several music debuts, including first-time, US performances by Potty Mouth Music artists
HiJack and
Andy George (UK). Under the moniker HiJack, Jon Chant is known for creating and playing bouncy, funk-fueled grooves with chunky beats and hooks that walk a thin between house and techno. George, a PMM newcomer in 2008, made a fast statement across the world not only with his filthy, big room “bangers” but also with the launch of his monthly, BBC Radio1 show he co-hosts with Jaymo.
Also making his Smart Bar resident debut at WMC is
Santiago, along side production partner
Bushido. As one of the first signings to the PMM roster, Santiago & Bushido’s brand of forward thinking, tech house beats elevated his career to new heights in 2008, including a No. 1 seller on Beatport.
Joining in the WMC closing antics are fellow PMM artists
Scott Cooper (UK) and
TJR (NYC). England’s
Will Bailey—one half of Bass Weazel, formerly one half of Twocker—also touches down for a electro-house inspired set, while Smart Bar mainstays
Frankie Vega and
Ori Kawa (Chicago) bring their hometown flavor to the bill. Chicago’s own
Alex Peace & Mixin Marc of Movement Music / B96 along with
Dino G of SpyBar round out one of WMC’s dirtiest dance line-ups. Host
Whisky Pete (LA) MC’s the event.
