Nowadays and for some time already, it seems (to me) or it simply comes to (my) mind, that the scene isn't going under big changes and that there's no specific city or area that would be defining how things are and what way things should follow. You can go to Chicago, you can go to New York City, also Miami in the states. Toronto in Canada as well as the Uk, South Africa, Greece, Spain among many others, but it seems that in none of these you will be living a scene that may be part of that line in time where the past and the future are getting together to mark a new era.
The community has become probably a worldwide phenomenon that crosses the boundaries of cities and countries with the help of the Internet, understandable like a digital scene. Information about upcoming events, new record releases and even the parts of an upcoming song flow in the Net among clubbers, promoters, producers and vocalists. We all together take part of the same movement making it maybe a bit the same and homogeneus. Just the music could be evolving while the scene stays the same. Or is it that both (have to) evolve together?
Another possibility is that the movement is suffering from changes but we as persons don't have the possibility of seeing that change until it becomes history for the ones to come in the future.
Am I just glorifying a past era and saying nothing remarkable is taking place right now? Well, maybe in terms of scene evolution but concerning the music itself few I like more than the one that surrounds the 2000's and forth.
What's your thought?
