Bolivian artist, Paul Jove better known as Pituko, releases his first official EP under his own independent label, San Pedro Estudios. This follows his previous official release in Nov of 2007; a double mixed cd also titled El Manimalero where the same title track makes its debut.

It’s been a busy 2008 for Pituko since he has been dj’ing, performing live and producing at almost full time, not to mention running his vegetarian restaurant, Namás Té. Therefore there was no chance to peacefully release his productions. Finally in 2009 we will have the opportunity to listen to his own variety of electronic music as his alter-ego ‘Pituko’ which stays within the outsized spectrum of techno music.

El Manimalero EP starts off with the same title track taking you into a more intimate and deep soundscape tied to an organic link of voice and guitar. A lot of the synths are played in real-time to keep that grounded sound rather than sequencing to a perfect midi-time. As we enter “The Fig”, we start to hear a re-freshing yet generic type of beats progressing to a build-up of dysphonic synths bouncing off each other as part of the vocal-sampled climax taken from the movie “Women in Love (1969)”. “Maximum Interference” invites you to a soundscape where noises/interference play an important role as guides throughout the minimal tune; percussion is an important part in Pituko’s sound hence the sounds of the Indian Dohl/tabla and shakers. Many of times when listening to a dj set by Pituko, breaks are an important part of a breakdown therefore this release would not be complete without a breaky/electro track, “Katushe”. And finally “Oh Brazil!” closes the EP as one of the more ‘clubby’ tracks of the EP, giving enough gap for dj’s to mix in and have a climax of brazilian type percussions; great for a dj tool.

Distribution will be mainly within Bolivia as a physical Compact Disc product, however we will be announcing possible digital release via online distributors or labels that are interested in this EP.
