DiscoTone Radio Show vol. 1 (23.02.2010.)

Dear House family,

Wednesday has passed and so the first DiscoTone Radio Show in 2010 has. It’s been a while since last update, but I was extremely busy with my faculty so I couldn’t make it to do both things in the same time.

However, that’s behind me now and you can expect your regular updates normally from now on.

Here’s the tracklist from this week’s show:

01. Jay Williams - Sweat (JoJo Flores Therapy Edit) / ???
Nice edit of the classic. He didn’t change it a lot; so if you liked the original, you’ll probably like this one as well.

02. Black & Spanish - No Compromise (Main) / Restless Soul Rec.
Black politics over FAT beat. We need more of this. Everything with politics will do these days.

03. Todd Terry & Darryl James - T's Plays It Cool (DJ Mix) / Inhouse Rec.
NY style bumping beats. Simple, tribalistic and hypnotic.

04. 3 Amigos ft. Su Su Bobien - You Bring Me Joy (Club Mix) / Jellybean Soul
I don’t know what to say more about this label. Too good? Wicked? You name it… Jellybean crew have been busy lately and the outcome is great. Powerful, loud music with her heavenly voice on the loop.

05. Justin Michael & Phonic Funk ft. Maiya - My Destination / Seamless Rec.
Similar “pressure” vibe as that of 3 Amigos’. More electronic though…

06. Ruben Mancias feat. Wunmi - Let It Rain (Ruben Mancias Mix) / Jellybean Soul
Still sound fresh.

07. Tom Novy And Lima - Take It (Closing Time) / Kosmo Rec.
I’ve been criticized for playing this tune – I can’t help it; the composition is just as if it’s came out of textbook.

08. Mix2inside ft. Gioia Bruni - Why Did You Call Me / Mix2inside Rec.
09. Mix2inside ft. Joyce Elaine Yuille - My Best Thing (Mr. Bords Naked Sax Remix) / Mix2inside Rec.
10. JB Experience - I Like It Like That (Re-Mix2inside Soul Extended Vox) / Mix2inside Rec.

These three came out from the one of the most substantial packages that I’ve lay my hands on in last few years. It’s released as Essential Soul Collection vol. 2 on Mix2inside records. The playing is just glorious and songs are nice. Everything in the one place you have here; from Disco to Soul, House, Garage and Jazz. That’s why I’ve said it’s substantial. Unbelievably useful for DJs. 13 tracks included!!!!

11. DJ Pierre ft. Queen Mary - Good Luv’ / King Street
Pierre’s Classic!

12. Jaidene Veda - Soul Size Love / DNH Rec.
This is deep, deep, deep. Soft, but full beat with sexy voice on top. Those tackling sticks in the beat are crazy.

13. Benji Candelario ft. Wiz - Cruzin' (BC's Late Nite Mix) / Transitori Music
I believe that we are going to hear about this one in the future from the places like Ibiza etc. Remember Funky Green Dogs’ Fired Up? I don’t know why, but this one reminds me so strong on that tune.

14. Grand High Priest & Craig Loftis ft. D'Bora Ross - Surely (GHP 2010 Vocal Mix) / Jellybean Soul
This is sick! That minimalistic stringy+bass+organ ride is a groover, if I ever heard one. Elastic music, very dancefloor friendly, and her voice and the lyrics are gonna lay them down and roll them over. Beautiful! Btw, is it me or it’s Jellybean Soul – this is the third time in the show.

15. Urban Blues Project ft. Michael Procter - Love Don't Live (Tommy Musto The New Birth Mix) / AM-PM
Classic!

16. Byron Moore - Life Starts Today (Nicky P Remix) / Tea Party Music
Is this Nu School Soulful House? I don’t know how to name this... It’s beautiful one anyway! The voice of this gentleman makes me little sad in “I’m in love and my girlfriend is out of town” way. I’m going to spin this for long time, I can tell. Big BRAVO for the Tea Party camp!

17. Temple Movement pres. Dawn Nicole - Will I Ever Learn To Love (Original) / Temple Movement Rec.
Deepness from the Temple Movement, as usual. Nice one.
